    Emily Echols, Counseling Intern

Hey there! I’m Emily Echols. I am a passionate counseling intern with a love for the fantastical side of life. When I’m not immersed in the world of counseling, you can often find me lost in the pages of fantasy books, exploring the enchanting realms created by amazing authors like J.R.R. Tolkien or Jane Austen. Perhaps you’ll spot me all dressed up as I step back in time at a renaissance festival.

I have a passion for helping others that has driven my path to become a counselor. I look forward to the opportunity to work with clients of all ages and backgrounds. Because of my own past struggles with an eating disorder and depression/anxiety, I believe that every individual has a unique story to tell. I am committed to creating a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and challenges without judgment. Whether you are navigating the complexities of relationships, struggling with mental health issues (depression, anxiety, and more), or simply seeking support on this crazy thing called life, I am here.

I am here to walk alongside you with empathy, understanding, and a genuine desire to help you thrive. I am currently working on completing my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. As a student and intern I am constantly eager to expand my knowledge and skills to better serve my clients and self. I want to make you feel safe, heard, and at the center of sessions. Therefore, I have a pull toward utilizing approaches such as CBT, collaborative, and person-centered therapies.

The first step to getting mentally healthier is realization and reaching out when needing help. That is a huge accomplishment in itself! I look forward to being a part of that and walking along side you. Let’s get this journey started!

Emily is currently under the supervision of Amber Flannery, MA, LPC, CPCS.
