    Amber Flannery, MA LPC CPCS

    (CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS)

    Clinical Director/Founder

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia, practicing in the McDonough area with over 8 years of clinical experience. I graduated with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Trauma from Regent University.

Prior to starting my private practice, I worked with a large group private practice in the metro Atlanta area and provided mental health services to both individuals and their families. I’ve also worked in community mental health and provided in home therapy services to children and adults. While in graduate school, I provided intensive crisis stabilization services to individuals that were inpatient at a local psychiatric hospital.

When I’m not working with clients, I am spending time with my husband, three daughters, family/friends, and our three dogs. I love to spend time outside and try to travel to the mountains and the beach as often as possible.

My specialty areas include helping individuals struggling with concerns of self-worth, boundary issues, mothers in all stages of life and parenthood, spiritual matters, military veterans/families, and trauma related experiences. As a wife of a retired Navy veteran I have vast experience helping current and former service members and their families navigate concerns that are unique to the daily lives of military families.

I also enjoy working with individuals presenting with general anxiety and depression, relationship struggles, stress management, and issues related to identity and coping with general life transitions.

When working with clients, I focus most on the relationship while also incorporating elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and solutions focused therapy (SFT).

Across each of the above presenting concerns, it is such a privilege to help individual clients embrace their strengths, recognize personal resiliency factors, and cultivate overall growth. I find it personally rewarding to hear each client’s story, observe how unhelpful thoughts and feelings can be channeled and ultimately transformed into healthier energy, and to be a part of someone’s journey towards a fuller, happier life. Throughout this process, I will constantly strive to create an atmosphere of respect, acceptance, trust, and collaboration.
